Campaign 2006
The South wants to grow
You fight the image of a helpless South that waits for better times. Only the plans of the local population are actually supported. Only these plans are adapted to the local context and can lead to sustainable development.
Plans within a group
Development is more than just a better life for one person. Development is only sustainable if it takes into account the whole community.
Vice Versa: dialogue supports the plans of the South
Fifty staff members of our partner organisations come to you. In fifty places, they get to experience "life as it is in Flanders'” for one week. At the same time, Flanders learns about the South. That is Vice Versa.
49 + 1 examples of plans
Self-organised alphabetisation, self-controlled small loans, human rights and so on: each of our fifty guests tells you about their own projects against poverty.
Vice Versa World Party for the plans of the South
Come on March 18th to Mechelen to say goodbye to the fifty Vice Versa partners. Just like in 2002, it will be a day full of stories from the South, workshops, an info market and music.
Political support for the plans of the South
191 countries agreed to cut global poverty in half by 2015. They put forward eight goals. These Millennium Goals range from "diminishing child starvation" to "drinkable water for more people". The eighth goal contains a package of measures to accomplish the first seven goals. But the voice of the South is hardly heard. Broederlijk Delen demands that the rich countries treat the South as an equal partner.
A flag for the South's own plans
Make a flag to express your faith in the plans of our partners in the South. Raise it during a public moment. That moment can for example be the local youth action day on March 11th. Bring your flag with you to the Vice Versa World Party.
Forty days digging deeper
Our own roots lie in the biblical faith tradition. Be inspired by the spirituality of our fifty project partners during this Lenten period.
Broederlijk Delen
supports groups of people in the South to realise their own plans in their struggle against poverty and injustice.
It's the people in the South who find the solutions themselves. Only this guarantees that the solutions are adapted to their specific context. This way of working of Broederlijk Delen guarantees sustainable results!
