Campaign 2010
Samuel, a small-scale farmer lives with his family in the Andes plateau in Bolivia. There is less and less rain. Food production is falling drastically. Fortunately, with the help of Equipo Kallpa, one of Broederlijk Delen’s partner organizations, he was able to install an irrigation system. Its management is a task shared by the whole community, just like their efforts towards reforestation, their fight against erosion and soil degradation, etc.
People in the South are achieving their plans to protect their food production, residential areas and the environment. Therefore we want to nominate Samuel, and along with him all our partner organizations for a prize that does not yet exist in our world: the Nobel Prize for Sustainable Development.
