Finances
Revenues and expenditures
We owe it to our donors, volunteers and also of course to our partners and collaborators in the North and South to properly manage our funds. Below you can take a closer look at the finances of Broederlijk Delen.
In 2010, Broederlijk Delen had a total annual income of approximately 16.1 million euros. About half of our income (43,7%) comes from people like you: from group activities, general donations, collections in churches, contributions from schools, communities and from legacies. Thanks to these revenues, we also receive government grants for our partner organisations in the South and for our actions addressing the causes of poverty. A small percentage of our budget comes from the sale of campaign materials or from services rendered.
In 2010, the biggest part of our expenditures (about 86.8%) went directly to Broederlijk Delen’s main goal: to ensure that people in the South can realise their own plans. 73.2% of this 86.8 % goes to partner work and 13.6% goes to actions addressing international causes of poverty (sensitization and political action). The rest (13.2%) goes to supporting activities (documentation centre, transparent accountancy …).
Broederlijk Delen
supports groups of people in the South to realise their own plans in their struggle against poverty and injustice.
It's the people in the South who find the solutions themselves. Only this guarantees that the solutions are adapted to their specific context. This way of working of Broederlijk Delen guarantees sustainable results!
